city
This is one of my drawings. We had to draw a town or city that you wanted to do. We also had to add color. I used the color yellow for the sun and I added reflections of the sun on the windows.
SKRILLEX
This is one of my favorite drawings. I decided to draw skrillex, he makes dubstep, which is a genre of music. I shaded it in pen to add value.
hallway drawing
This is my hallway drawing. We sat in the hallway and we had to draw what we saw.
elephant
This is a scratch board project I made and I didn't like this project because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. It was complicated to do this project because we used tacks.
peace&love
This is my ink project and this is my favorite print of all of the prints I made.
color ink peace&love
This is my color ink peace&love, this was my least favorite. This was my least favorite because it was boring and didn't have much color to it.
Weaving Project
This is my weaving project. I weaved Bob Marley and a lion. The lion is a symbol for Jamaica. At first i had to find the pictures and print them and then cut them into strips, then you combine them by weaving them into one picture. then we had to draw it on to a poster.
Lyric Painting
This is my lyric painting. We had to find lyrics to a song and paint them on a poster with a picture that has a meaning to the lyrics.
This is my drawing for a news article about depression. The art project was about a social conflict from a news article. The project was completed by using colored pencils. I like nothing about this project because I didn't enjoy doing it. I would change nothing about the project because I don't care what happens to it. The mood depression and sadness is evoked in this project because it was part of the news article I picked. The element color is used because shading and color pencils was used. The visual focus is the girl on the swing because she is the main idea of the poster/drawing.
This my paper cutting project. Its supposed to be a classy skull. This project is not related to me at all. I like how easy it was to make this project. The visual focus is the classiness of the skull. The element texture is used because there is a texture on the mustache.
This is my flower drawing for a nursing home. The background is green and one of the two flowers are purple and the other flower is blue, purple and pink. I did not like anything about this project. It has nothing to deal with me because I don't like flowers.
The artist I chose was Dayna Thacker, a graduate of the University of Tennessee. She now lives and works in Atlanta,Georgia. She was awarded a studio at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center and she was a finalist for the Forward Arts Foundation 2010 Emerging Artist Award. Her work was also featured in the 2009 Southern issue of New American Paintings.
Her interest lies in the systems that humans create for themselves in order to make sense of the world and our place in it. Philosophy and the various religions of the world. Many of her art projects such as include in The Structure of Accumulation. They include buildings, or what she calls “religious art of the past.”
My favorite out all of her paintings would be “River deep, sing me to sleep.” Its my favorite because its a boat in the middle of an ocean. But the best part are the details she put in the painting. If you look closely the waves are a song from a music learning book.
My second favorite artwork by her is”anywhere, but here”. There are two people riding on a paper airplane in the sky. The detail in this work is unbelievable and incredible. I like how the people look amazingly realistic and the paper airplane looks like a paper airplane.
